‘The Winter Castle'
Garrard asked me to create a concept for their Christmas windows in a classical style but with a modern twist. 'The Winter Castle' was it up at night with magical glowing snowflakes that cover the face of the building like clusters of flakes that have fallen and frosted onto the glass, drawing you around the corner from New Bond Street.
The shapes are drawn from patterns created by multiple snowflakes falling onto one another. The fluorescent blue acrylic panels over the entrance are CNC routed, etched and cut in lines that glow in ambient light.
The snowflakes for the windows are more detailed patterns, etched and cut with a laser cut line allowing for intricate patterns to be created for each individual flake.
